A whole floor of the home in Spain was occupied a large wasp nest and proved to be very hazardous pests. The whole place was swarmed with millions of these different stinging insects.
This newly discovered wasp nest has broken the record of the largest wasp nest discovered in history which was previously found in New Zealand. The giant nest was found near a farm in Auckland in 1963 and measured to being a total of 12 feet long and 5 feet wide and had a total circumference of 18 feet!
Imagine a wasp nest that size in real life, it will send shivers down your spine. This nest was so big that it came crashing down out of a tree because of its heavy weight and split into two pieces.
The nest found in Spain is said to be a lot bigger than the one found in Auckland. Experts have analysed that this nest was created by wasps of an African species and is quite unusual of them to build their nest inside a house because they like to live in gardens and build nests outdoors.
There was a recent event of another wasp nest being discovered that was also of a considerable size in Southampton, England. It wasn’t one of the largest but it faired quite close with being 6 feet and 5 inches tall and providing as a home to at least 500,000 wasps.
A normal wasp nest tends to contain only between 4,000 to 5,000 wasps but fairly larger wasp colonies can have wasps of as many as millions but it is a rare finding one like the one found in Spain. The house has been blocked and authorities are still trying to figure out how they have to handle this huge wasp nest.
